Armstrong Capella University TS5536 Ethical and Legal Considerations in Information Technology 17 March 2012 Ethical and Legal Dilemma in IT Based on the definition of cyberethics as given by Tavani, â€Å"the study of moral, legal, and social issues involving cybertechnology† (2010, pg. 3), law is usually/always a part of cyberethics to one degree or another. Being right or wrong based on society’s value builds the fundamentals of ethics. Moral principles make up ethics. Values are maintained based on the law, which in turn encourages us to uphold the laws based on those principles. There are at times when something may be unethical but may still uphold the law and the values are not†¦show more content†¦These primary core values will be the bedrock in which to stand and guide for future student record developments. Legal and ethical values in IT must be without reservation. When it comes to dealing with student records and how they are dealt with on a day-to-day process, from requesting and sending to/from district to district to reporting to the state/federal levels to storing and retrieving them on the network they have to be taking seriously enough to outweigh the human justifications, weaknesses, egos, and faults. These primary core values will be the bedrock in which to stand and guide for future student record developments. â€Å"An ethical framework is a way of structuring your deliberation [discussion] about ethical questions,† according to the Center for Ethical Deliberation (Frameworks, 2007). The impact of ethics on technology applications in the schools is decreasing as information is being passed through the portals without regards to implications on the students’ future. Research Project Christ calls us to make disciples of all nations, whether that is locally or globally. The problem however is that many Americans especially those aged 16-29 are very hostile/ resistant to the idea of Christianity. With that being said, rhetorically speaking how could an individual like myself reach the 16-29 year olds; those in my age group? Before I begin to tackle on that question, I would like to investigate the notion of how exactly this specific age group is hostile/ resistant to the idea of Christianity. According to David Kinnaman President of The Barnia Group, non- Christians aged 16-29 years old when asked ‘What is your current perception of Christianity?’ 91% said antihomosexual, 87% said judgemental, 85% said hypocritical, 78% said old-fashioned, 75% said too involved in politics, 72% said out of touch with reality, 70% said insensitive to others. In addition 84% of non-Christians who are friends with Christian, only 15% said that the lifestyle of the Christians is not different from their own. In identifying, the truth about Non-Christians, roughly 80% of non-Christians have attended a church for three months in their life and roughly 50% of non-Christians have considered becoming a Christian. Many however, decided against Christianity due to unfavorable circumstances experienced within the church. Alexander The Great Of The Classical Greek Culture Essay

ver seen before. Alexander the Great symbolized that same dichotomy in what he believed, how he dressed and spoke, and how he approached life. He had no idea that he would create a new culture. Alexander spoke Greek but did not act Greek in every way of his life. He did not live modestly like the classical Greek culture required. Instead of dressing simply and with austerity, Alexander wore elaborate Asian-styled clothing and he likely enjoyed Epicurean pleasures. Although leading military campaigns was his primary objective, Alexander also led the way in fashion and demonstrated how to enjoy pleasure in one’s life. The move from classical Greece to a more modern culture happened quickly. The Hellenistic culture became more self-indulgent as it focused on elaborate sculptures, art, jewelry, and even buildings. This more contemporary culture began to affect city planning; for the first time cities designed vast public spaces like parks and theatres, all of which lent themselves to pursuits of pleasure or a peaceful state of mind. This posterity – and the ensuing prosperity -- is all credited to Alexander the Great.
